Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Security Architect to join a fully remote team and drive secure cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role emphasizes strategic security leadership, architecture design, and incident preparedness for scalable cloud services.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in information security with 4+ years in security architecture, strong knowledge of IAM, data security, cryptography, and automation through IaC/CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 4 years focused on security architecture.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing secure solutions in major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of network security, IAM, data security, and cryptography.
• Experience with security automation, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications are highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote, global team setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) that meet business requirements and security standards.
• Develop and maintain security blueprints, patterns, and reference architectures for cloud and on-premises environments.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of security technologies and tools to enhance the overall security posture.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to security engineers and architects on security best practices.
• Conduct security reviews of system designs, application architectures, and infrastructure deployments.
• Develop and document security policies, standards, and procedures related to architectural design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks throughout the development lifecycle.
• Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and cloud security trends.
• Mentor junior security team members and foster a culture of security awareness.
• Contribute to incident response strategy and provide architectural expertise during security incidents.
