Placements24 is seeking a Lead Aircraft Certification Specialist for a fully remote position. You will guide clients through obtaining aircraft type certificates and airworthiness approvals from SACAA, FAA, and EASA, leading a team of specialists and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires at least 10 years in aircraft certification, deep regulatory knowledge, and strong leadership to manage complex projects remotely from South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft certification, airworthiness, or regulatory compliance within the aerospace industry.
• Deep understanding of Type Certification and Supplemental Type Certification processes.
• Extensive knowledge of SACAA, FAA (e.g., 14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, 29), and EASA.
• Proven experience in leading certification projects and managing teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with regulatory bodies and clients.
• Experience with airworthiness directives (ADs) and service bulletins (SBs).
• Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work remotely within South Africa .

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage aircraft certification projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Provide expert interpretation and application of aviation certification regulations (e.g., SACAA, FAA, EASA).
• Develop and implement certification strategies and plans for new aircraft and modifications.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and internal engineering teams to facilitate the certification process.
• Oversee the review and approval of certification documentation, including compliance reports and test data.
• Mentor and guide junior certification engineers and specialists.
• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
• Identify potential certification challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
• Stay abreast of changes in aviation regulations and certification standards globally.
• Manage project scope, budget, and resources effectively for certification efforts.
