Placements24 is seeking a bright Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its remote Research & Development team. This entry-level role supports senior engineers in mechanical design, testing, and data analysis, with hands-on opportunity in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

You will work from home, using CAD tools, contribute to design iterations, and build testing procedures while developing foundational skills in materials, manufacturing processes, and simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for basic 3D modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote team setting.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in conceptualization and design of mechanical components and systems using CAD.
• Support prototype development, build, and testing efforts, documenting procedures and results.
• Conduct basic stress analysis and simulations under guidance.
• Research and evaluate new materials, components, and manufacturing technologies for potential application.
• Analyze test data, generate reports, and contribute to design review meetings.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for R&D activities.
