Placements24 seeks a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our distributed team remotely, focusing on special projects and advanced R&D initiatives. You will tackle challenging problems, conceptualize new technologies, and drive projects from feasibility studies to proof-of-concept development.

You will work independently in a remote setting within the North West region and Rustenburg area, contributing to innovative solutions while communicating effectively with global experts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, R&D, or a specialized engineering role.
• Experience with advanced engineering analysis techniques (FEA/CFD).
• Strong CAD skills and familiarity with rapid prototyping methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage projects in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and analyze mechanical systems and components for emerging technologies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, R&D, and performance simulations for new ideas.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, design specs, and experimental plans.
• Collaborate with remote team members across disciplines via digital tools.
• Source and evaluate suppliers and technologies for project implementation.
• Troubleshoot engineering challenges and propose innovative solutions independently.
