Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Mechanical Design Specialist to translate concepts into detailed mechanical designs and optimize components for performance and cost. This fully remote role requires strong technical aptitude and excellent communication to thrive in virtual collaboration.

You will design assemblies, run simulations (FEA/CFD), create BOMs and drawings, and support prototype testing. The position emphasizes independence and remote teamwork in a global context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Experience with engineering simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software, ensuring adherence to design specs.
• Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to analyze stress, thermal performance, and other parameters.
• Collaborate with remote teams and manufacturing partners to refine designs.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and propose innovative solutions.
• Support prototype fabrication and testing, iterating as needed.
