Job summary

Somewhere is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist for a full-time remote role with a US-based company. The candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and teammates, resolving technical issues and ensuring smooth IT operations.

Requirements include 2+ years in IT support, multi-OS knowledge (Windows, macOS, Linux), cloud services, networking, and strong English/Spanish communication. Independent contractor agreement with bi-monthly USD payments; salary between $1,000 and $2,000

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in an IT Support role, preferably in a fast-paced or customer-facing environment.
Experience working remotely and supporting international clients is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
Experience with IT support tools (e.g., remote desktop applications, ticketing systems).
Knowledge of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, etc.).
Experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (Portuguese a plus).
Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical users.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Experience in delivering outstanding customer support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support to clients and internal teams via email, phone, and remote tools.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
Assist in setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, hardware, and software.
Guide users through problem-solving processes and offer training when needed.
Identify and escalate complex issues to the appropriate team.
Maintain detailed records of issues and resolutions in a ticketing system.
Support the deployment of new software and updates for compatibility and smooth operation.
Assist with basic network troubleshooting and server maintenance.
Track and analyze recurring issues to prevent future problems.
