About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly competent and self-motivated Remote IT Support Specialist to join their distributed technical support team. This role is crucial for providing prompt and effective technical assistance to users across the organization, ensuring seamless operations regardless of physical location. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, resolving hardware, software, and network problems through various remote channels. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa, and is a key part of our client’s commitment to leveraging talent irrespective of geography within the broader Installation & Maintenance and IT support landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and chat.
• Install, configure, and update software and operating systems on user devices remotely.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of support requests, solutions, and user interactions in the ticketing system.
• Assist with user account management, including creation, modification, and deletion of accounts.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of IT support documentation and knowledge base articles.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar help desk role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
• Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
