Placements24 in South Africa seeks a proactive Remote IT Infrastructure Technician to manage distributed IT systems. This role is fully remote, supporting Vereeniging area operations with remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and end-user support.

You will work with Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, and security tools; expect independent work, strong communication, and opportunities for IT certifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Technician or similar remote IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and remote management tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, network devices, and IT infrastructure components.
• Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, and applications across the network.
• Provide technical support to end-users via remote access tools and communication channels.
• Manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
