Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Intellectual Property Attorney to advise clients on protection, management and enforcement of IP assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. This fully remote role supports a global client base from South Africa and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree required.
• Admission as SA Attorney or Advocate or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of dedicated IP experience.
• Experience in IP advisory, transactions and/or litigation.

Responsibilities

• Advise on IP strategy including patentability and enforcement.
• Conduct IP due diligence for M&A and investment transactions.
• Draft and negotiate IP licensing, technology transfer, and settlements.
• Manage trademark and patent application processes including prosecution and oppositions.
• Provide IP litigation support for infringement and validity disputes.
• Stay updated on global IP laws, regulations and trends.
