Placements24 is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor specializing in IP and Technology Law. This fully remote position allows you to operate from anywhere within South Africa, while supporting our hub near Centurion, Gauteng.
You will manage the company's IP portfolio, advise on licensing, commercialization, and data privacy compliance. You will draft and negotiate complex technology agreements, lead IP strategy, and stay ahead of POPIA/GDPR requirements, collaborating with R&D and product teams to
Qualificações
- Admitted SA attorney with at least 6 years of IP/Technology Law experience.
- Strong expertise in patent, trademark, copyright, and licensing.
- Solid knowledge of data privacy laws (POPIA and GDPR).
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex technology/IP agreements.
Responsabilidades
- Develop and implement IP strategies including protection of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Manage lifecycle of IP assets from invention disclosure to registration and enforcement.
- Draft, review, and negotiate software licenses, SaaS, development, and IP licenses.
- Advise on data privacy and protection matters; ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct IP due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and investments.
- Manage IP disputes, infringements, and claims; lead resolution efforts.
