Placements24 is seeking a Remote Intellectual Property Counsel to lead global IP strategy, oversee patents and trademarks, and manage licensing from anywhere. You will safeguard innovations and align IP with business goals in a fast-moving tech environment.

SA-admitted attorney with 7+ years in IP law will coordinate international prosecutions, draft licensing agreements, advise product teams, and drive IP risk management while working fully remotely.

Qualifications

• Admitted SA attorney with strong IP focus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in IP law, including patent prosecution and/or trademark management.
• Deep knowledge of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global IP strategy including patent, trademark and copyright matters.
• Manage patent portfolio: drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Oversee trademark clearance, applications and portfolio management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP licensing and related agreements.
• Advise business teams on IP implications of new technologies and products.
• Conduct IP due diligence for M&A and strategic transactions.
• Manage IP disputes and enforce IP rights as needed.
• Educate internal teams on IP protection best practices.
• Collaborate with R&D and product teams to protect new innovations.
• Monitor IP landscape for risks and strategic opportunities.
