Placements24 is recruiting a Remote Inventory Control Specialist for a leading e-commerce logistics provider. The role is fully remote within South Africa and focuses on maintaining inventory accuracy across distribution centers using WMS, auditing stock, and reducing shrinkage.

You will generate reports, support demand planning, and develop SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in SCM or related field and at least 3 years' inventory

About the Role

Our client, a leading e-commerce logistics provider, is actively seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Inventory Control Specialist to join their globally distributed team. This position is based entirely remotely, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa . The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory data across multiple distribution centers using advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, identifying discrepancies, conducting audits, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory accuracy and minimize losses. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze inventory levels in real-time using WMS and other relevant software.
• Conduct regular inventory audits, including cycle counts and physical stock takes, to ensure data accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by collaborating with warehouse operations and other relevant teams.
• Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control processes.
• Generate regular reports on inventory status, accuracy rates, and operational performance.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance inventory efficiency and reduce shrinkage.
• Manage and track the movement of goods, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Utilize analytical skills to forecast inventory needs and support demand planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices for inventory management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related role.
• Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and auditing techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced functions preferred).
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
• Experience with e-commerce logistics or multi-site inventory management is a plus.
