Placements24 is looking for a Logistics and Inventory Specialist to optimize stock across multiple distribution points while supporting a remote South Africa-wide operation. You will manage inventory records, forecast demand, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely inbound shipments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in inventory/logistics, strong Excel and WMS proficiency, and excellent organizational skills to drive efficiency and reduce stockouts across our distributed hubs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets related to inventory and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage inventory levels across all warehouses and distribution channels to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize carrying costs.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Implement and refine inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners to manage inbound shipments and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Process stock adjustments, transfers, and returns efficiently.
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory management software to track stock movements and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to align inventory with demand forecasts and promotional activities.
• Generate regular reports on inventory status, turnover rates, and stock discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards for inventory management and handling.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent e-commerce fulfillment provider, is seeking a motivated and experienced Logistics and Inventory Specialist for a fully remote position. This role is essential for managing and optimizing inventory levels across multiple distribution points and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our client's supply chain. You will leverage data and technology to maintain accurate inventory records, reduce stockouts, and improve overall logistics efficiency. This remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, supporting our operations across various locations, including our administrative hub in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
