Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Information Security Specialist to join a global security team. This fully remote role supports cybersecurity across platforms in a remote-first environment with emphasis on autonomy and virtual collaboration, ideally near Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field or equivalent experience, 2–4 years in information security, and strong communication skills for remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 2–4 years of information security experience.
• Solid understanding of security principles, networks and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with security monitoring tools, firewalls and endpoint security.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards and procedures.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses.
• Monitor security systems and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Support incident response activities including containment and eradication.
• Review security of new systems and configurations.
• Contribute to security awareness training.
• Stay informed about threats and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and development to meet security requirements.
• Assist with data protection and privacy compliance.
• Manage and configure security tools.
