About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Information Security Specialist to join their global security team. This fully remote position is critical for supporting and enhancing our client's cybersecurity defenses across all operational platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding of information security principles, risk management, and security best practices. You will work collaboratively with distributed teams to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security policies. This role is tailored for a remote-first environment, emphasizing autonomy and proactive contribution from anywhere. We are looking for an individual who thrives in an independent setting and can effectively communicate and collaborate virtually, ideally based near or with a strong connection to Stellenbosch, Western Cape , though fully remote work is the standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and report on potential risks.
• Monitor security systems and respond to security alerts and incidents according to established procedures.
• Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and eradication.
• Perform security reviews of new systems, applications, and configurations.
• Contribute to security awareness training programs and materials.
• Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security requirements are met.

Requirements

• Experience with security monitoring tools, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
• Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and security frameworks (e.g., NIST).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for remote collaboration.
