Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Specialist to work remotely in support of Pretoria-based operations. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining security measures to protect data and systems from cyber threats.

You will monitor security alerts, respond to incidents, and contribute to policy development, with opportunities for professional growth in a modern remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in an information security role.
• Familiarity with security best practices, network protocols and threats.
• Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, especially remotely.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security tools and technologies (firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS).
• Monitor logs for suspicious activity and respond to alerts promptly.
• Develop and enforce information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation.
• Support the incident response process and post-incident reporting.
