Placements24, a technology firm, seeks a Remote Information Security Specialist to join our growing cybersecurity team in South Africa. You will implement, monitor, and improve security measures to protect digital assets from evolving threats.

Qualifications

2–4 years of information security or related technical experience.
Strong understanding of security principles including network security and cryptography.
Proficient in using security tools (firewalls, VPNs, SIEM).
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

Implement and manage security controls to protect systems, networks, and data.
Monitor security alerts and logs, investigate potential incidents and recommend actions.
Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests, analyze results and coordinate remediation.
Assist in development and enforcement of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and post-incident analysis.
Contribute to security awareness training programs for employees.
Stay up-to-date with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into system design and deployment.
