Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Architect to join a logistics-focused team, primarily remote with a Durban office presence. The role leads design and implementation of secure IT infrastructure aligned with regulatory requirements and business goals.

You will define security standards, evaluate technologies, and guide roadmaps across on-prem and cloud environments, acting as a subject-matter expert to safeguard data assets and critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing security solutions for complex, large-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of network security, application security, data security, IAM, and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations relevant to the industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure enterprise-level network and system architectures.
• Define security standards, patterns, and best practices for the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into the design and implementation phases of projects.
• Develop security roadmaps and strategic plans to address future threats and business needs.
• Conduct security reviews of proposed architectures and solutions.
• Oversee the implementation of security controls across various environments (on-premises, cloud).
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, including diagrams and policies.
• Act as a subject matter expert on information security architecture for the organization.
