Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a fully remote role. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and guide on-site staff through repairs using remote tools, video calls, and detailed documentation.

The ideal candidate has a trade certificate or diploma in Industrial Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics, with 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently from

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and repair of complex machinery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical procedures to non-technical personnel.
Experience using remote support tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical assistance and troubleshooting for industrial machinery (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
Guide on-site personnel through diagnostic procedures, repairs and preventative maintenance via phone, video call and digital platforms.
Analyze equipment performance data and diagnostic reports to identify root causes of failures.
Develop and update technical documentation, repair guides and best-practice manuals for remote support.
Review maintenance logs and service records to track equipment history and recurring issues.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to resolve complex challenges.
Train and mentor junior technicians or operators on troubleshooting techniques.
Advise on spare parts and tools required for repairs.
