Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Specialist to join a fully remote team serving clients around Stellenbosch. You will diagnose equipment remotely, develop maintenance strategies, and oversee preventative care from a distance.

Hands-on work is performed by on-site teams, while you guide repairs via video and remote access. You will leverage advanced diagnostic tools and documentation software to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment remotely.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with remote diagnostic tools, video conferencing and documentation software.
Ability to work independently with a remote workload.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support for industrial maintenance and repair activities.
Analyze diagnostic data and client reports to identify potential failures and preventative measures.
Develop maintenance plans and schedules for various industrial machinery.
Guide on-site technicians through complex repair procedures via video conference and remote access.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of equipment specs, issues, and resolutions.
Collaborate with clients and internal tech teams to resolve critical issues.
Document all remote interactions, recommendations, and outcomes accurately.
Stay informed about new maintenance technologies and best practices.
Assist in development and refinement of remote troubleshooting protocols.
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines in all advised maintenance procedures.
