Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Industrial Equipment Specialist to provide expert remote support to clients across South Africa. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and guide repairs remotely, ensuring rapid issue resolution and adherence to high service standards.

The role emphasizes independent work from a dedicated home workspace, with strong communication skills and thorough documentation. Remote training and collaboration with engineering are key components of the job.

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) or related field.
7+ years hands-on experience with industrial equipment in service, support or engineering.
Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for industrial machinery and automation systems.
Analyze performance data and diagnostics to identify root causes.
Guide clients through repair procedures, maintenance schedules, and best practices via phone/video/email.
Develop and deliver remote training sessions for client technicians.
Create and update technical documentation including manuals and guides.
Collaborate with engineering to feedback on performance and improvements.
Manage multiple support requests and ensure timely resolutions.
Maintain records of client interactions and solutions.
