Placements24 is hiring a Remote Category Purchasing Specialist to manage indirect spend procurement for IT, services, marketing, and facilities from anywhere in South Africa. You will source, negotiate, and contract suppliers, driving cost savings and ensuring timely delivery in a fully remote setup.

The ideal candidate has a 4+ year track record in procurement, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with indirect spend experience.
• Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement for indirect spend categories (e.g., IT, professional services, marketing, facilities).
• Conduct market analysis to identify suppliers and assess trends.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers for optimal value.
• Develop and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand needs and provide procurement support.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to meet SLAs.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Maintain procurement records and report on spending and savings.
