Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design, specify, and optimise climate control systems for commercial and industrial projects. The role supports national projects with a flexible remote work arrangement, emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainable design.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, perform load calculations, select equipment, and prepare drawings and BOMs. Remote teamwork is a key component of this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC design and engineering experience.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software: Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, HAP.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics.
• Knowledge of energy modeling and LEED green building standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration for remote teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/piping design.
• Prepare detailed HVAC drawings, specifications, and BOMs using industry-standard software.
• Ensure HVAC designs comply with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits and technical assessments as needed (occasional travel).
• Troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues and recommend solutions.
