Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join its remote team, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building services for commercial, institutional, and residential projects. You will develop energy-efficient, code-compliant designs using Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP, perform energy modeling, and collaborate with architects and electrical engineers from anywhere.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical building services design.
Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
Knowledge of SANS, ASHRAE and energy efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

Design HVAC systems for various building types.
Specify mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, AHUs and pumps.
Develop detailed drawings and specs using CAD software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP).
Perform energy modeling and calculations to optimize performance.
Collaborate remotely with architects, electrical engineers, and other design professionals.
Conduct site visits and reviews as required (occasional travel).
Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
Provide technical support during construction and during RFIs.
