Placements24 seeks a seasoned Remote HVAC Design Engineer to develop efficient HVAC systems for commercial and residential projects across South Africa. You will design, model, and optimize systems from a remote setup, collaborating with architects, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 6+ years of HVAC design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP, and knowledge of energy modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 6+ years of HVAC design experience with energy-efficient solutions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and HVAC load calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems for new and renovated projects.
• Create system layouts, schematics, and equipment schedules using CAD/BIM.
• Perform load calculations, air/water flow, and energy modeling simulations.
• Select HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs, diffusers) for energy efficiency.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and standards.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, engineers, and clients to refine designs.
• Develop technical documentation including specs and reports.
• Troubleshoot HVAC design issues during construction or occupancy.
• Research and integrate emerging HVAC technologies and sustainable strategies.
• Manage multiple projects remotely and meet deadlines.
