Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Logistics Coordinator for a dynamic international freight forwarder. This fully remote role allows you to manage shipments from your home office, coordinating movement of goods, liaising with carriers and clients, and ensuring efficient logistics operations for a global business based in South Africa.

You will need proven freight coordination experience, strong knowledge of trade and customs, and solid skills in MS Office and logistics software.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Logistics Coordinator or Freight Forwarder.
• Solid understanding of international trade, shipping procedures, and customs regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with logistics software and management systems (TMS/WMS).
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage freight shipments (air, sea, and road) from origin to destination.
• Book cargo space with carriers and negotiate rates.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Track shipments and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with customs brokers, warehouses, and logistics partners to ensure smooth transit.
• Resolve issues or delays during the shipping process.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and logistics activities in the management system.
• Ensure compliance with international and domestic transportation regulations.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients and service providers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics processes and operational efficiency.
