Placements24 is seeking a Lead Logistics Coordinator for a fully remote position based in South Africa. You will lead a team, coordinate international and domestic shipments, manage carrier relationships, and ensure regulatory compliance and timely documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in freight/logistics with leadership experience, strong knowledge of TMS/ERP systems, and a focus on process improvement in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years in freight forwarding or international logistics, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping modes, customs procedures and trade regulations.
• Experience managing carrier relationships and negotiating freight rates.
• Proficiency with logistics software and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators.
• Oversee end-to-end coordination of international and domestic shipments (air, sea, road).
• Manage carrier relationships, brokers, and other 3PLs to meet SLAs and rates.
• Prepare shipping docs: bills of lading, declarations, permits.
• Monitor shipments, resolve delays, communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Optimize routing for cost savings and transit times.
• Develop SOPs to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Analyze data to identify trends and KPI improvements.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
• Train and develop team members.
