Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding operations. The role is fully remote within South Africa, delivering geotechnical analysis and design solutions for infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and renewables. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, and professional registration (Pr.Eng.

or Pr. Sci. Nat.).

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering required.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACNASP preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant geotechnical experience, infrastructure focus.
• Proficient with geotechnical software (Plaxis, GeoStudio).
• Strong data interpretation and communication skills for remote role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations and interpret site data.
• Perform analyses for foundation design (shallow and deep) and slope stability.
• Develop design reports, specifications, and drawings using industry software.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists on integrated solutions.
• Provide expert remote technical support to project managers and site teams.
• Review geotechnical aspects of designs prepared by others.
• Stay updated on geotechnical theory, practice, and software developments.
• Manage multiple deliverables with quality and timeliness.
• Prepare proposals and contribute to business development.
