Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to major mining projects from a remote location. You will oversee geotechnical analysis, design ground support, and monitor stability for underground and open-pit operations, collaborating with site teams.

You will utilize FLAC, Plaxis, and remote sensing tools to analyze data, prepare reports, and provide expert guidance. The position offers flexible remote work while supporting significant mining operations

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of mining-geotechnical experience.
• Experience with FLAC and Plaxis for numerical modeling.

This role is integral to ensuring the stability and safety of mine infrastructure through expert geotechnical analysis and design. You will leverage cutting-edge technology and remote collaboration tools to provide critical geotechnical insights and recommendations, irrespective of your physical location. This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the challenge of supporting significant operations in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed geotechnical investigations and analyses for mine design and stability assessments.
• Develop and implement ground support designs and monitoring programs for underground and open-pit mines.
• Conduct seismic hazard assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
• Analyze geotechnical data from site investigations, monitoring instruments, and production records.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, design guidelines, and technical specifications.
• Provide remote technical support and mentorship to site-based engineering and operational teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on mining applications.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for numerical modeling (e.g., FLAC, Plaxis) and stability analysis.
• Experience with remote sensing technologies and geotechnical data management systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously from a remote setting.
