About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to their underground mining projects based out of Centurion. This role is integral to ensuring the stability and safety of mine workings through comprehensive geotechnical analysis and design. You will work closely with mine planning, operations, and engineering teams to assess ground conditions, design support systems, and mitigate geotechnical risks. The hybrid nature of this role allows for focused project work both on-site and from a remote location, offering a balanced approach to technical problem-solving in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and data analysis to assess rock mass properties and stability.


• Design and recommend appropriate ground support systems for underground mine excavations.


• Perform numerical modeling and analysis to evaluate the stability of slopes, tunnels, and other mine structures.


• Monitor ground conditions and seismic activity, and implement remedial measures as needed.


• Develop and implement geotechnical monitoring programs and data management systems.


• Provide expert advice and technical support to mine planning and operations personnel.

Requirements
