Placements24 is seeking a Geophysicist with seismic interpretation expertise to join our exploration team in a fully remote capacity. You will process, analyze, and interpret seismic data to identify hydrocarbon prospects and contribute to exploration strategies.
The role requires collaboration with geologists worldwide, advanced software experience (Petrel, HampsonRussell, GeoDepth), and a Master’s or PhD in Geophysics or related field.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in seismic data processing and interpretation within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency with Petrel, HampsonRussell, and GeoDepth.
- Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing workflows, and interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and stratigraphic plays.
- Utilize advanced seismic interpretation software and techniques to build subsurface models.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, gravity, and magnetic data for a comprehensive subsurface understanding.
- Perform amplitude and attribute analysis to de-risk exploration prospects.
- Collaborate with geological and reservoir engineering teams to validate exploration concepts.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for exploration reviews.
