Placements24 is seeking a Remote Bioinformatics Scientist for a pioneering biotechnology firm focused on genomic research. The role centers on analyzing large-scale genomic datasets to drive discoveries in personalized medicine and drug development, using Python and R to interpret data.

You will design pipelines for WGS, WES, and RNA-Seq, apply ML methods, and collaborate with molecular biologists, geneticists, and clinicians to translate findings into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field (Bioinformatics, CS, Statistics).
• 5+ years post-PhD in bioinformatics/genomics data analysis.
• Expertise with large-scale NGS datasets and statistical methods.
• Proficiency in Python and R for data analysis.
• Experience with Snakemake or Nextflow and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq).
• Perform statistical analysis to identify biomarkers and targets.
• Develop ML models for predictive analytics in biology.
• Collaborate with scientists to integrate multi-omics data.
• Write robust, reproducible code and workflows in Python and R.
• Visualize genomic data for diverse audiences.
• Contribute to experimental design and analytic strategy.
• Stay updated on bioinformatics advances.
• Participate in remote team meetings and planning.
