Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Bioinformatician to join a pioneering research division. This fully remote role analyzes large-scale genomic datasets, develops pipelines, and extracts biological insights from home-based work.

The position focuses on personalized medicine, disease research, and evolutionary biology, collaborating in a globally distributed team using cutting-edge technologies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, CS, or related field.
• Experience analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with SAMtools, BWA, GATK, Ensembl or NCBI.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pipelines for WGS, RNA-Seq, and other datasets.
• Analyze large genomic and transcriptomic data to identify variations and expression patterns.
• Collaborate with biologists to define questions and design analyses.
• Visualize data and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to new algorithms and tools; ensure reproducibility and data integrity.
