Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Forensic Accountant to lead investigations into financial fraud for a global clientele. You will work autonomously from Mossel Bay, Western Cape, or anywhere in South Africa, delivering clear, legally defensible findings and support for litigation.

You will analyze complex financial data, trace flows, quantify losses, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with counsel and agencies while upholding the highest ethical standards in a remote setting.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Professional qualification (CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA) or CFE highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years in forensic accounting, fraud investigation or related field.
• Experience with legal frameworks, evidence handling, and litigation support.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with IDEA, ACL and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently on multiple complex cases remotely.

• Conduct forensic accounting investigations into fraud, embezzlement and asset misappropriation.
• Analyze financial data to identify patterns, anomalies, and evidence of wrongdoing.
• Trace financial flows, reconstruct records, and quantify losses.
• Prepare detailed forensic reports and present findings clearly and legally defensibly.
• Assist in litigation by providing expert testimony and evidence for proceedings.
• Conduct interviews to gather information and corroborating evidence.
• Develop data acquisition/analysis strategies for remote investigations.
• Collaborate with counsel, law enforcement, and stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethics throughout investigations.
• Contribute to fraud prevention strategies and internal controls.
