Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Forensic Accountant on a contract basis to analyze complex financial data, detect fraud, and provide expert testimony from a home office. The role involves collaborating with global legal teams and investigators in a remote-first environment.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in forensic accounting, CA(SA)/CPA/CFE qualifications, and proficiency with IDEA, Arbutus or EnCase.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CA(SA) with forensic accounting specialization, CPA, CFE are highly preferred.
Minimum of 6 years in forensic accounting, including fraud investigation and litigation support.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth investigations into financial fraud, asset misappropriation and other financial crimes.
Analyze complex financial records, transaction trails and accounting systems.
Develop financial models and reconstructions to support investigations and litigation.
Quantify financial losses and damages from fraudulent activities.
Prepare forensic accounting reports detailing findings, methodologies and conclusions.
Assist legal counsel with case strategy and expert witness testimony.
Collaborate with law enforcement, regulators and stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Stay updated on fraud schemes and forensic techniques.
Use specialized forensic software and data analytics tools.
