Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Food Safety and Compliance Manager for a leading food technology company delivering virtual and hybrid catering nationwide in South Africa. You will develop, implement, and monitor FSMS, HACCP plans, and regulatory compliance across partner networks.

The role requires a Master’s in Food Science or related field, 5+ years in food safety or QA, strong audit and risk skills, and the ability to work independently from a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a related field (Food Science, Food Safety or Public Health).
• Minimum 5 years in food safety management, QA, or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs and international/national regulations.
• Experience conducting audits and risk assessments.
• Strong communication and remote-work capabilities.
• CFSM/PCQI certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage food safety management systems (FSMS) and HACCP plans.
• Ensure compliance with national and international regulations and standards.
• Conduct remote audits and verify partner adherence to safety protocols.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training on food safety to partners and staff.
• Maintain documentation and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with regulators and external auditors as needed.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and implement preventive measures.
• Support continuous improvement of safety protocols and procedures.
