Job summary

Placements24 seeks a data-driven Demand Planning Manager for a prominent FMCG client. This fully remote role will lead forecasting, inventory optimization, and production planning across South Africa from a home office.

You will leverage advanced analytics, collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations, and mentor a remote team of demand planners to deliver accurate forecasts and improved supply chain performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in demand planning or forecasting in FMCG.
• Proven ability to develop and implement accurate demand models.
• Experience with SAP APO, Demantra or Kinaxis.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, remote-ready.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve the demand planning process to ensure accurate sales forecasts.
• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional plans, and external factors to generate consensus forecasts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, operations) to gather input and align on demand plans.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and address deviations with corrective actions.
• Translate demand forecasts into production and inventory plans with the supply planning team.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations.
• Utilize demand planning software to enhance forecasting capabilities.
• Develop and present demand planning reports and insights to senior management.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of demand planners and promote best practices.
• Evaluate and improve demand planning methodologies and systems.
