Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote Fleet Dispatcher to coordinate vehicle and driver activities from a home office near Cape Town. You will optimize routes, ensure on-time deliveries, troubleshoot disruptions, and maintain schedules with real-time communication and documentation.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting with access to advanced dispatch technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet dispatch, logistics coordination, or a similar transportation management role.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and general computer applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the daily dispatch of all fleet vehicles, optimizing routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Communicate proactively with drivers via phone, radio, or digital platforms to provide instructions, updates, and support.
• Track vehicle locations and statuses in real-time using dispatch software and GPS systems.
• Respond promptly to operational disruptions, re-routing vehicles and adjusting schedules as necessary.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, including driver hours, vehicle assignments, and delivery confirmations.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues.
