Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist for External Data, with remote/homebased work in South Africa. You will define and ingest external data streams, coordinate data transfer requirements, and ensure compliance with data protection and study protocols.

You will liaise with data providers, develop tsDTA documents, and validate data transfers, bringing strong SDTM and GCP/ICH knowledge to a globally diverse team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience with external data e.g., Safety Lab, PK, biomarkers, ECG.
• Experience with external data providers within a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Experience in diverse, cross-functional, global teams.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Define, set up and ingest External Data Streams per protocol.
• Coordinate with data stakeholders on data transfer and structure.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific data transfer agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs.
• Collaborate with external data providers for tsDTA alignment.
• Translate concepts into data mapping guidance for programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers against specs.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms into the data repository.
• Monitor data stream availability and resolve transfer issues.
