Job summary

IQVIA seeks a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to manage the ingestion of diverse external data streams for clinical trials. You will coordinate data transfer, mapping, and documentation, working with cross-functional teams globally to meet study timelines.

The role requires 3+ years in clinical data, knowledge of SDTM and GCP/ICH guidelines, and strong English communication skills. This remote position supports multiple regions within South Africa and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience with external data e.g., Safety Lab, PK, ECG, biomarkers.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials and in cross-functional, global teams.
• Knowledge of SDTM and GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan set-up activities.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to establish data transfer and structure per data model.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting study requirements and methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study requirements.
• Monitor external data streams and resolve data transfer issues per conformance of data.
