Job summary

IQVIA in South Africa is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to oversee the definition, setup and ingestion of external data streams across clinical trials, including labs, ECG, imaging and biomarkers. The role focuses on data transfer, mapping, and compliance.

You will work with data stakeholders, draft tsDTA agreements, ensure data transfer frequencies, perform user acceptance testing, and monitor data availability while supporting global multiregional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in CS or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data sources (labs, ECG, biomarkers).
• Knowledge of SDTM and data standards.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations and governance.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer and structure per data model.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs and reporting.
• Liaise with external data providers to align tsDTA.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance.
• Perform UAT of test data transfers for accuracy.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms into CDR with external provider access.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams and resolve transfer issues.
