Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to define, set up and ingest external data streams for clinical trials. You will coordinate data transfer, mapping, and documentation with cross-functional teams and external providers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in clinical data management, SDTM knowledge, and GCP/ICH familiarity, with strong English communication. This is a remote, full-time position based in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science/related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience with external data e.g., Safety Lab, PK, Simple Biomarkers, ECG.
• Experience working with external data providers within a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Experience working in diverse cross-functional, global teams.
• Knowledge of SDTM and working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities.
• Liaise with key data stakeholders to define data transfer and structure.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs for monitoring and analysis.
• Liaise with external data providers for alignment of tsDTA.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance for programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers to ensure alignment with data specs.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external streams into CDR.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams; resolve issues.
