Job summary

IQVIA in South Africa seeks a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased). You will define, set up and ingest external data streams for clinical trials, including SDTM mapping and data transfer agreements, ensuring compliance with GCP/ICH and data protection laws.

You will collaborate with data stakeholders, perform UAT, liaise with providers, and monitor data availability to meet study timelines across SA sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data e.g., Safety Lab, PK, ECG.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Define, set up and ingest External Data Streams per protocol.
• Plan external data stream setup activities and deliverables to meet study timelines.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer, ingestion, and structure per data model.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or data structures.
• Develop data transfer agreements documenting study requirements and methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs (review, monitoring, reporting).
• Liaise with external data providers to align tsDTA and data transfer.
• Translate medical/scientific concepts into data mapping guidance for clinical programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers to ensure accuracy with data specifications.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external streams into CDR with provider access.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams and resolve transfer issues.
