Placements24 is seeking an Exploration Geochemist to join its expanding team in a fully remote role supporting a global portfolio of mining projects. The successful candidate will design, implement, and interpret geochemical programs, leveraging advanced analytical techniques and data interpretation to identify new mineral deposits.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Geochemistry, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
• 7+ years of mineral exploration geochemistry experience.
• Proven expertise in statistical and geostatistical analysis of geochemical data.
• Experience with geochemical sampling techniques in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee geochemical sampling programs (soil, stream sediment, rock chip, biogeochemical).
• Manage and interpret large geochemical datasets using statistical and spatial analysis techniques.

About the Role

This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within designated time zones, supporting a diverse portfolio of international mining projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and interpreting geochemical exploration programs aimed at identifying new mineral deposits. You will play a critical role in advancing exploration projects from initial reconnaissance to advanced target definition, utilizing advanced analytical techniques and data interpretation skills. We are looking for a candidate with a profound understanding of geochemical processes, sampling methodologies, and the statistical analysis of geochemical data, with a particular focus on precious and base metals. This role requires a proactive approach, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to contribute to a high-performing, globally distributed team. Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee geochemical sampling programs (e.g., soil, stream sediment, rock chip, biogeochemical) for mineral exploration projects worldwide.

Requirements

• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geochemistry, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration geochemistry, with a strong emphasis on designing and interpreting exploration programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis and geostatistical modeling of geochemical data (e.g., using R, Python, ioGAS, ArcGIS, or similar software).
• Proven experience with various geochemical sampling techniques and their application in different geological settings.
• Solid understanding of mineral deposit types and their associated geochemical dispersion halos.
• Experience working with international exploration projects and diverse geological environments.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a globally dispersed team.
• Must have reliable high-speed internet access and a suitable home office environment.
