Placements24 is seeking a Principal Geologist for a fully remote role with a globally recognized mining and exploration firm. You will lead exploration projects, guide data interpretation, and shape the mineral discovery strategy from a remote setting.

The role requires a PhD or Masters, 12+ years in mineral exploration, expertise in 3D modeling (Leapfrog, Vulcan), geochemistry and geophysics, and the ability to mentor junior geoscientists while collaborating with international teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with strong focus on target generation and project management.
• Demonstrated success in discovering and advancing mineral deposits (e.g., gold, base metals, battery minerals).
• Expertise in geological mapping, structural geology, and 3D geological modeling software (Leapfrog, Vulcan).
• Proficiency in interpreting geophysical and geochemical datasets.
• Strong understanding of deposit models and their application in exploration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote work environment.
• Eligibility to work remotely from a suitable location, with occasional travel for site visits as required.
