Placements24 seeks a strategic Remote Event Catering Director to lead our nationwide catering services. This fully remote role requires a visionary leader with extensive high-end catering and event management experience, capable of driving operational excellence from a distance.

You will manage a distributed team, oversee budgets and vendor contracts, and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for diverse clients from Vereeniging or any authorized remote location.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in senior leadership within catering/hospitality/event management.
• Proven experience building and executing catering strategies at scale.
• Experience leading remote or distributed teams.
• Strong P&L, budgeting and cost-control capabilities.
• Expertise in menu engineering, food safety, and quality standards.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a nationwide catering strategy aligned to business goals.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of managers, chefs and coordinators.
• Oversee planning, execution and financial performance of events.
• Maintain top standards of food quality, safety and service.
• Manage budgets, control costs and drive revenue growth.
• Foster relationships with clients, vendors and partners.
• Stay abreast of culinary trends and market demands.
• Refine procedures to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Develop vendor contracts ensuring price competitiveness and quality.
• Lead menu development and culinary program initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
