Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Environmental Engineer specializing in compliance to join a remote team in South Africa. You will guide EIAs, permitting, and ongoing compliance monitoring across projects, ensuring alignment with environmental law and best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related science.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental consulting or compliance.
In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation and permitting processes.
Experience with environmental modelling and monitoring techniques.
Strong analytical, report writing, and virtual communication skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct EIAs and prepare documentation for regulatory submission.
Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for different projects.
Ensure compliance with national and provincial environmental legislation, regulations, and permits.
Advise project teams on environmental best practices and mitigation measures.
Monitor and report on environmental performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and stakeholders on environmental matters.
