Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Environmental Civil Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will assess environmental impacts, design remediation solutions, and ensure compliance with environmental legislation across diverse projects.

You will work with project teams and regulatory bodies to develop sustainable engineering solutions, implement waste management and pollution controls, and monitor environmental performance during construction and operation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Environmental focus or Environmental Engineering.
Pr Eng registration with ECSA is advantageous.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental engineering.
In-depth knowledge of South African environmental legislation and permitting processes.
Experience with environmental modeling and GIS software.

Responsibilities

Conduct EIAs and prepare associated reports.
Design and implement waste management, pollution control, and land rehabilitation solutions.
Ensure compliance with national and local environmental regulations and standards.
Develop strategies for sustainable water and energy use in infrastructure projects.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project design.
Monitor environmental performance during construction and operation phases.
