Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join a remote-first engineering team. You will design, develop, and integrate advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid-scale and commercial applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop control algorithms, run simulations, and ensure safe, grid-compatible operation of BESS from anywhere. This role offers flexible hours and growth in a fast-evolving energy sector.

Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems with focus on energy storage.
5+ years of hands-on experience in design and implementation of energy storage systems, Li-ion batteries.
Strong understanding of power electronics, BMS, and grid integration standards.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and C++.
Ability to work independently in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable battery energy storage systems, including sizing and integration strategies.
Develop control algorithms and software for BESS operation, optimization, and grid interaction.
Conduct performance simulations and testing to validate system design and parameters.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and project teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BESS performance, safety, and grid connectivity.
