Placements24 is seeking a Remote Embedded Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test firmware for cutting-edge electronic products. Work entirely from home, collaborating with a distributed team of hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers.

The role emphasizes low-level programming, system design, and strong problem-solving skills within a remote-first environment. 6+ years of embedded firmware experience is preferred, with autonomy and innovation encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of embedded systems development and firmware engineering.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and debugging tools; ARM Cortex‑M and embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and remote collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug firmware for microcontrollers and embedded systems using C/C++.
• Implement and optimize RTOS and device drivers.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for embedded software modules.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system architecture and components.
• Troubleshoot complex embedded software/hardware integration issues.
• Participate in code reviews and documentation; contribute to process improvements.
